Also called “The Green Stone of Africa”, Verdite is a semi-precious stone only found in Southern Africa. It rates as one of the oldest rocks in the world, dating over 3.5 billion years. It is a challenging medium for sculptors and only the very best tackle this stone. As Verdite is a high quality and rapidly diminishing resource it can only increase in value, hence the interest from international art collectors and investors. The scupltures below were hand carved in Zimbabwe by Tawanda.
